What Homeowners Say After Choosing Properly Installed Outdoor Blinds

Real jobs. Real homes. No shortcuts. Every review below comes from clients who wanted it done once and done right.
  • Oh wow!!! We have recently had 95% blockout Ziptrak outdoor blinds installed to enclose our entertaining area & the transformation is remarkable, to say the least. Customer service was spot on from our first encounter & continued right through the installation process & beyond. We had placed our order then later changed the colour & added two more blinds. Scott was so obliging & nothing was too much trouble, he has even followed up to make sure we are completely satisfied. Highly recommend this company & thank you once again Scott.

  • We live in South Gippsland right on top of a hill which cops all the weather and wind - lots of wind. We got our outdoor blinds installed 10 years ago and have just recently had one replaced. The service and quality of the product is second to none and I would recommend Indoors Outdoors Blinds to anyone looking.

  • We had 3 PVC blinds installed on our balcony and could not be happier with the result. They have added a new dimension to the balcony space giving us more use and flexibility. We had the hood and tracks color-matched to the house with great results. It is now a really great space. Highly recommend this company.

  • The blinds are beautiful and we are really thrilled. Also, your three guys are lovely to have around and are doing a great job. Thank you.

  • Hello Scott, It's been some time now since you installed the transparent awnings on the decking at the priest's residence at Mount Eliza. I'm sure you hear about it when anything goes wrong, but I really did want to say thanks for the job you did and the quality of the product you provided. I still get terrified when those winds race over the oval, but so far everything has survived beautifully! Thank you!

  • Hi Scott, Just a short note to say thank you for a superb job. We really appreciated the communications regarding when the "boys" would be here, something rare with tradies today, and always on time. The whole outdoor area has been given a great lift and has definitely added value, we are looking forward to enjoying the extra outdoor space in winter, and the ceiling heaters look great, Many thanks again John and Sue Waller.

  • We love our blinds. The pull down clear plastic outdoor room blind stops the wind in its tracks. Wouldn't be without it. Our kitchen remote control blind is my favourite. No way could I cook the evening meal without cutting down the blaring afternoon sun. It's so simple and easy to use and stops wherever I choose. We loved our blinds so much that our neighbours and family have all chosen Indoors Outdoors to supply their blinds and they have gone on to recommend them too.

  • From enquiry to install, the experience was fantastic and we are really impressed. The blinds look even better than anticipated. Great job.

  • Thank you Scott and team for the fantastic work done on our deck. Your work ethic was outstanding and very professional. Adjustments that were made to the the deck had the blinds made to fit and the end result had our deck looking like it had never been touched. We would be pleased to recommend Indoors/Outdoors Blinds & Shades to our family and friends. Loving our outdoor area even more!

Indoors Outdoors FAQ

Straight answers. No pressure. Built for homeowners who want the job done properly.
  • Why should I avoid the cheapest outdoor blinds?

Most blind failures come from rushed installs and cheap parts. Brackets bend. Motors burn out. Fabric creases. PVC clouds early. This is what happens when installers rush in and out or rely on flimsy components. A blind is not something you just drill in and hope for the best. One bad angle and the wind shakes it apart. We take the opposite approach. Correct tensioning. Quality materials. Measured and installed by Scott. This is why our blinds last for years, not seasons.
  • Are zips unreliable?

Old zipper blinds fail because the zips twist, stretch, and jam. Ziptrak and Zipscreen do not use old zipper systems. Ziptrak uses a vertical Cordura spline that locks into an aluminium channel. Zipscreen uses a tensioned straight drop system with no external zippers. Both avoid the failure points that gave older blinds a bad name.
  • How long does installation take once I approve the quote?

Most installs are completed within four weeks. During summer the schedule fills quickly, so earlier approval secures your preferred slot.
  • Why does clear PVC sometimes turn milky or cloudy?

Clear PVC absorbs moisture when the weather is cool or dewy. This can create a temporary milky look. Direct sunlight removes the moisture and restores full clarity. This is normal across all PVC. We use premium Japanese made marine grade PVC because it stays clearer for longer and is more resistant to scratching.
  • How do I clean and maintain my blinds?

Use Vuplex and microfibre towels. Avoid strong cleaners. We recommend a professional clean once per year. We can arrange this for you. You can also download our Blinds Care and Maintenance Guide for full instructions.
  • Do you supply Ziptrak in shade mesh?

Yes. Ziptrak works very well with mesh fabrics. It provides airflow and privacy while blocking heat and glare.
  • Can you install on brick, timber or steel?

Yes. We regularly install on brick, timber, steel, tile, rendered surfaces, and mixed materials. Irregular posts and balustrades are not a problem.
  • What do I get with the free consultation?

You get clear advice from Scott. He will explain what works, what fails, which system suits your home, and what to avoid. No pressure. No pushy follow ups. You receive a proper measure and a clear quote within one business day.
  • What are your payment terms?

A deposit between twenty five and fifty percent starts manufacturing. The remaining balance is due on installation day.
  • Ziptrak or Zipscreen. Which is better?

Both are excellent systems, but they suit different needs. Ziptrak is a guided track system that holds the blind in place from top to bottom. No rattling. No movement in strong wind. Ideal for enclosing patios and creating outdoor rooms. Works with clear PVC or shade mesh. Very easy to operate. Great for large spaces that need stability.

Zipscreen is a premium tensioned straight drop system made by Rollease Acmeda. Works beautifully for modern homes that want a cleaner, architectural look. Excellent for shade mesh applications. Very strong in wind when installed correctly. Smooth operation and a refined finish. We install both. We will tell you honestly which system suits your space and why.

There is no single best system for every home. It depends on exposure, size, fabric choice, and how you will use the area.
  • What warranty do you offer?

You receive a full three year warranty on all installs. After that, any repair is done at cost. No call out traps. No hidden fees. We stand by our work.
  • Do you install support posts if my area needs them?

Yes. We supply and install fixed or removable posts to ensure the blinds remain stable, seal properly, and operate smoothly.
  • What PVC do you use?

We use extruded marine grade PVC made in Japan. It offers better clarity, better scratch resistance, and better long term performance than cheaper alternatives.
  • What fabrics can I choose from?

For Zipscreen and shade mesh systems, you can choose from ShadeView, Vista Weave, Visiontex or Outlook fabrics in a wide range of colours. For Ziptrak, both clear PVC and shade mesh options are available.
  • How wide can my blind be?

Every blind is made to measure. For PVC, we generally keep to about three thousand four hundred millimetres wide with a drop around two thousand nine hundred millimetres. For shade mesh we can go wider, up to about three thousand eight hundred millimetres, while still maintaining structural stability.
  • What is a valance and do I need one?

A valance is a draft stopping skirt at the bottom of the blind. It helps seal your outdoor space and keep warm air inside, which is valuable in Melbourne winters.
  • Why choose Indoors Outdoors?

We have installed more than one thousand two hundred blinds across Victoria. Scott manages every measure and install. No shortcuts. No rushed jobs. This is why our blinds last for years, not seasons.
